Hill Top is a village in the Wingecarribee Shire, about 17 km north of Mittagong and 629 metres above sea level. It sits on the old Main Southern Railway: the line was moved in 1919 and the original track became the Picton Loop, which closed in 1978. The old station platform can still be seen, and the village has a primary school, a post office, a fire station and the War Memorial Hall.
The Hume Highway is around 10 km away by road through Colo Vale, so Hill Top moves often run to Mittagong and Bowral, up the highway to Sydney, or down to Wollongong. When we quote, we ask about the driveway, any gates and where a truck can turn, then recommend the right truck and crew.
