Getting a fridge or washing machine ready
A little preparation keeps your appliance safe in transit:
- Empty the fridge and defrost the freezer the day before
- Take out loose shelves and drawers, or tell us so we can secure them
- Plumbed-in fridges and dishwashers need disconnecting first: plumbing, gas and electrical work needs a licensed trade
- Front-loading washing machines: fit the transit bolts if you still have them
- After the move, follow the manual on how long to wait before switching the fridge back on
- Measure doorways at the new place for very large fridges

Single items and small jobs use our 4.5 tonne truck with two removalists: $171 Per Hour + GST, Monday to Friday, with a 2 hour minimum plus travel time.

Do you move just one item?
Yes. We move single items like a fridge, washing machine, lounge, bed or dining table, with two removalists and our smallest truck.
How do you move a fridge safely?
Upright, on an appliance trolley, strapped in place and wrapped to protect the doors and sides. Empty and defrost it beforehand, and after the move follow your manual on how long to wait before switching it back on.
Can you pick up something I bought on Marketplace or Gumtree?
Yes. Give us the seller’s address and yours, and we collect it, wrap it and carry it into your home.
How much does it cost to move a fridge?
Single items are charged by the hour: $171 Per Hour + GST for two removalists and a 4.5 tonne truck, Monday to Friday, with a 2 hour minimum plus travel time. Moving a few items together makes the most of the minimum.
Do you connect appliances?
We move and place them. Plumbed-in fridges, dishwashers and gas appliances need a licensed plumber, gasfitter or electrician to disconnect and reconnect them.
