Before the day, we ask about access at both ends. How far is the truck from the front door? Are there stairs, a lift or a steep driveway? Is there a loading zone nearby? Packing, fragile items and storage between homes

Harbourside homes often hold artwork, glass, antiques and good furniture. Everything is wrapped in quilted moving blankets before it is lifted. Beds and tables are taken apart and rebuilt at the other end.

Want us to pack too? Our packing service uses proper cartons, butchers paper and bubble wrap. Every box is labelled by room, so unpacking is quicker.

Settlement dates don’t always line up. If your new place isn’t ready, we can hold your furniture in storage in Wollongong. It’s clean and monitored, units are 25, 40 or 60 cubic metres, and there is no lock-in contract. We deliver to Balmoral when you are ready.

How we price your move

Sydney moves are charged at our standard hourly rates for two removalists and a truck. That is $171 Per Hour + GST with a 4.5 tonne truck, $188 Per Hour + GST with an 8 tonne truck, or $199 Per Hour + GST with a 14 tonne truck. On top of that is 1.5 hours travel time for the truck’s return trip. The 8 and 14 tonne trucks need an extra hand at $40 Per Hour. Parking, driveways and lifts

Street parking near the beach can be hard to find, especially on warm weekends. Check with Mosman Council whether you need a parking permit or a loading zone for the truck. If your building has a lift, book it for the morning of the move and ask for lift padding. Tell us about steep driveways or long stairs when you book. We plan the crew and the truck around them.

Apartments and strata buildings

Many Balmoral homes are apartments in strata buildings. Most buildings want notice before anyone moves in or out. Some set move times, ask for a lift booking or want paperwork from the removalist. Ask your building manager early and pass the details on to us. We plan the day around the building’s rules, the lift booking and the nearest loading zone.

Traffic on the M1 and across the harbour decides how the day runs. Where we can, we plan the drive around the worst of the peak. For most homes, we load in Wollongong and unload at Balmoral the same day.
